Renovation of a municipal facility in Dover, New Hampshire. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

1. Introduction Strafford County is seeking qualified contractors to perform steel removal from the roof of The William A. Grimes Justice and Administration building at 259 County Farm Road, Dover NH 03820. This project involves safe removal and proper disposal of steel materials while ensuring compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations. We aim to partner with an experienced contractor to complete this project efficiently and professionally. 2. Scope of Work The scope of this project includes, but is not limited to, the following: o Steel Removal: o Unbolting and removal of steel components such as trusses, beams, panels and other specific steel elements from the roof structure. Some trusses require cutting due to proximity to HVAC equipment and ducting. Cutting methods cannot involve sparks or flames of any kind per Dover Fire dept. Carbide tipped reciprocating, rotating saws and steel cutting band saws are acceptable. o Site Access and Safety: o Ensure safe access to the roof for workers and equipment. o Implement all necessary safety measures to protect workers, occupants, and nearby areas during the removal process. o Cleanup and Disposal: o Removal of all debris generated during the project. o Proper disposal of steel materials and any other waste in compliance with local regulations. o Coordination and Compliance: o Coordinate with relevant parties for site access and project scheduling. o Adhere to all local building codes, OSHA regulations, and environmental standards. 3. Project Timeline The anticipated timeline for this project is as follows: o Mandatory pre bid walkthrough: 3/12/25 9:00 am (please note rooftop access will involve climbing a ladder and accessing the roof through a hatch.) o Contractor Selection Announcement: 4/3/2025 o Project Start Date: Start date contingent on communication equipment relocation. Work must be performed on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) o Project Completion Date: Reliant on start date. 4. Proposal Requirements Interested contractors must include the following in their proposals: o Company Information: o Company name, address, and contact details. o Summary of company history and qualifications. o Project Approach: o Detailed plan outlining the methods and equipment to be used for steel removal. o Timeline for completing the work. o Cost Estimate: o Comprehensive breakdown of costs, including labor, equipment, materials, and disposal fees. o Safety Plan: o Outline of safety measures and protocols to be implemented during the project. o Relevant Experience: o Examples of similar projects completed, including references and photos if available. o References: o Contact information for at least three references from similar projects. 5. Evaluation Criteria Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria: o Competitiveness of pricing. o Experience and qualifications related to similar projects. o Proposed project plan, timeline, and safety measures. o References and track record of successful project completion. o Completeness of RFP submission. Terms and Conditions o Strafford County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals. o The contractor is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality of project details. o The selected contractor will be expected to perform all work to the agreed-upon standards and timelines Strafford County is seeking qualified contractors to perform steel removal from the roof of The William A. The Strafford County Commissioners reserve the right to reject any and all bids/ proposals, to award the bid to other than the low bidder if deemed "bid most advantageous to the County" and to waive any defects in bids.
