The Belknap Pedestrian Bridge that connects the Floyd Street Parking Garage to the Main Belknap Campus to receive repairs shall be completed between May 2025 and August 2025. The intent of the repair project is general concrete repairs and the replacement of steel bridge bearing plates. The repair operations related to general concrete repairs includes but is not limited to spalled/delaminated concrete repairs, polyurethane and epoxy crack-injections, and repair of exposed reinforcing steel. The repair operations related to the bridge bearing plate repair is the complete removal and replacement of bridge end bearing plates between steel beams and concrete bearing surfaces. The Belknap Pedestrian Bridge is a highly traversed connector between the University's Main Campus and the Floyd Street Parking Garage. The importance of this bridge and surrounding area requires utmost attention to detail before, during, and after construction is complete. The pedestrian bridge crosses over rail lines owned by CSX Transportation. The nature of this project will require extensive coordination with CSX Transportation both before and during construction operations. Where required by CSX Transportation, construction methods and work activities shall be approved by the transportation agency, and work operations may need to be scheduled around CSX flagger availability. The University has a goal of 5% participation by MBE/WBE Suppliers for all regular procurements. There is a goal of 25% participation by MBE/WBE Suppliers for all Construction procurement's.
