This Request for Tender (RFT) is an invitation by the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic School Board (SMCDSB) to prequalified General Contractors to submit bids for the provision of General Contractor Services for the Wasaga K-12 new school build, as further described in the Bid Documents. The proposed project is a two-storey K-12 school and single storey childcare comprising approximately 125,000 sq. ft. The proposed building includes 17 standard elementary school classrooms, 4 kindergarten classrooms, 1 double and 1 single gymnasium. There will be approximately 20 secondary instructional classrooms (including specialty classrooms such as shop tech, science, and arts classrooms), and all required support and operational spaces (admin areas, washrooms, custodial, service rooms, etc.) will also be provided. A semi-professional theatre for community use is also proposed within the secondary school portion of the building. Site works include but are not limited to the phased reconstruction of the drive entrance to the neighboring Arena and Library (which will be shared with the school), new parking areas for the school and field, two new drive entrances, a bus drop-off lane and a kiss-n-ride lane, school and childcare play areas, as well as a running track and sports field. Masonry, Roofing, Millwork, Data Cabling, Building Automation, Mechanical and Electrical Subcontractors are prequalified as well.
