TIME OF COMPLETION :- May 23, 2025. The City of Grand Island owns an electric system consisting of a 115 kV loop around the City. This transmission loop connects seven distribution substations and two generation substations. The loop also has five 115 kV interconnections, at four substations, to the Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD). The Grand Island Electric Department is soliciting Bids for scheduled load tap changer maintenance of thirteen substation transformers, electrical testing of nineteen substation transformers, and oil processing for one transformer. Descriptions of each transformer are in Appendix 1. Full nameplate, DGA (Dissolved Gas Analysis), and PCB (Polychlorinated Biphenyls) info is available upon request. As part of the LTC maintenance, the contractor will be responsible for: 1. Draining LTC compartment completely and disposing of the old oil 2. Cleaning debris and residue from inside of compartment 3. Providing and replacing arcing contacts (where applicable) 4. Checking wear indicators on vacuum bottles and replacing if necessary (where applicable) 5. Providing and replacing gaskets (where applicable) 6. Hand cranking mechanism to verify no binding on all taps 7. Motor testing mechanism to verify no binding on all taps 8. Verify tap limit switches operate as designed 9. Making any needed adjustments to the mechanism 10. Refill with new mineral oil 11. Verify no leaks
