Miami-Dade County is soliciting interested contractors to register to participate and perform in Miscellaneous Construction Contract (MCC) Bids under the MCC 7040 & 7360 Plan projects. Contractual Opportunities are continuously available for all businesses located in Miami Dade who are interested in doing business with the County. If you have any vendor registration questions please contact Vendor Assistance at (305) 375-5773 The types of contracts available under the MCC Program are construction projects, facility repairs, neighborhood improvements, emergency repairs and maintenance work with a maximum value of $5.0M; ORD 09-101. All capital departments are participating. Additional opportunities are available through Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) which enables low-income families to reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. Funds are used to improve the energy performance of dwellings by families in need, using the most advanced technologies and testing procedures available in the housing industry. Measures to make homes more energy efficient include: replacement or installation of key components, installation of energy recovery ventilation systems including bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans and installation of whole mechanical exhaust systems to provide better indoor air quality, install attic insulation, install window solar films, repair or replace inefficient cooling units, repair or replace water heaters and address air infiltration with weather stripping, caulking thresholds, minor wall repairs, ceiling and floors, windows and doors License Requirements - At the time of Bid and pursuant to the requirements of Section 10-3 of the Code of Miami-Dade County, Florida and Request for Price Quotation (RPQ) and Contract Documents, the Bidder and all its subcontractor must hold a valid, current, and active State and/or Miami-Dade County contractor's license consistent with the requirements of the Scope of Work ESTIMATED COST: $1,877,670.00 LICENSE REQUIREMENT: General Engineering; Pipelines Engineering Contractor; General Building Contractor; Underground Utility / Excavation SCOPE OF WORK: The project consists of furnishing all materials (except those listed in Section 4.00 "Materials and Equipment Furnished by The Department"), labor, equipment, tools and other facilities and services necessary for proper execution, testing, and completion of the work required to Upgrade Sewage Pump Station No. 0844. This includes, but is not limited to, site preparation, demolition work, installation of new structures, installation of mechanical and electrical equipment, and restoration of impacted areas. Site preparation may require clearing and grubbing prior to demolition and construction work. The Contractor shall provide uninterrupted by-pass pumping capabilities for the existing pump station flow during all construction time and until the new pump station is completely operational; the bypass system shall have a flow and head capacity equal to or greater than the proposed pumps; tested and accepted by the Owner and regulatory agencies (see by-pass requirements on Section 8.00 "Measurement and Payment"). The Contractor shall also be required to design, obtain approval, implement and maintain a Maintenance of Traffic Plan (MOT) during construction activities, as required. Additionally, the Contractor shall comply with the best management practices for stormwater pollution prevention, including control of erosion and sedimentation during construction activities, such as installing silt traps in all stormwater drainage inlets close to the project site. Demolition work includes, but is not limited to: removal and proper disposition of all internal components on the existing wet well and dry well, including but not limited to pumps, piping, valves, fittings and ladders; demolition of existing pump station control panels and other electrical equipment, including but not limited to the meter base, disconnect devices, pullout and junction boxes, and all related conduits and wiring, including the buried feed line (Note: All salvageable equipment and materials shall be given back to the Department. The remote terminal unit -SCADA/RTU - shall be removed and provided back to WASD); demolition of existing wet well top slab; removal/demolition of dray well chimney and abandon existing dry well; demolition of concrete fillets inside the wet well; demolition of approximately 25 linear feet of an existing 12-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) force main; removal of approximately 20 linear feet of existing 8-inch suction lines; removal of existing pump station appurtenances, backflow preventer and air vent; removal of grass, and all other items deemed necessary to be removed for the successful installation of the new proposed pump station. The Contractor shall refurbish the existing wet well and modified it to be a receiving manhole, perform cores on the existing structure for the new piping, in addition to sealing the existing wall openings as required. Coordinate with Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (MDWASD) for the salvage of any other material and/or equipment in addition to the mentioned above. The Contractor shall furnish and install new equipment and materials such as: new valve vault with top slab and aluminum access hatch; new concrete top slab for the wet well, with aluminum access; concrete protective coating on all interior surfaces of the wet well; new duplex 45 HP submersible pumps and related equipment as specified on plans, all piping, valves, fittings and appurtenances for new pump station discharge and EPO connection; new 8-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) discharge piping force main (approximately 48 LF total), and connecting to the existing 12- inch force main on site; 35 linear feet of 8-inch gravity sewer influent line; new sump pump and its discharge piping at the valve vault; new concrete platform for electrical controls and facilities; new concrete slab for backflow preventer; 4 linear feet of ." type K water service line, including hose bibb with backflow preventer and protective cage; new control panel, electrical service, electric meter, main disconnect, motor connection box and SCADA antenna, including mounting structures; new generator and generator fuel tank; new electrical conduits and wiring for power, controls and grounding, including grounding rods and test wells; and new aluminum guardrails. Contractor will install new remote terminal unit (RTU) with new enclosure. Contractor shall coordinate with FPL the power connection. The Contractor shall furnish and install sod, hedges, concrete pavement, and all other areas and surfaces impacted during construction (as required) to maintain the site in equal or better condition as the existing. In addition, the Contractor shall provide start up and testing of the new facilities, and other appurtenant and miscellaneous items, services, and work for a complete, satisfactory and functional installation. This may include dewatering and disposal of product water as needed. B. Pumping Station 0844 is located at 4602 SW 129th Ct, Miami, Florida 33175. C. The Department reserves the right to issue the Notice to Proceed (NTP) to the Contractor at any time after the Award Letter has been issued. D. It is the intent of the MDWASD to obtain a complete functional, satisfactory, and legally operable installation under this project, and any items of labor, equipment or materials which may be reasonably assumed as necessary to accomplish this end shall be supplied whether or not they are specifically shown on the Plans or stated herein. The original Bid bond Security (in the form of a bid bond or cashier's check) MUST be delivered to WASD, at the address above, BEFORE the bids are opened. Failure to deliver the original will result in the bid submission being rejected as non-responsive. Invited bidders should have received an Invitation to Bid with an Invitation Key linked to the Invitee's email address. Upon request, an invitation can be sent to multiple email addresses within the same company. However, if multiple bids are submitted by the same company, ALL submitted bids will be rejected. The bid set includes electronic bid instructions. Training on electronic bid submission is available every Monday from 9 - 10 and every Wednesday from 1 - 2. The RFI cut-off date is five (5) business days prior to the bid due date. Liquidated Damages - $1,000.00 per day. The contractor must include in their bid package the following documents: 1. Appendix 5A, 2. COA Form (Only if project has Goods & Services goals) 3. Quotation Forms Pages, 4. Addendums, 5. Bid Bond - Note: A Bid Bond will be required only if the bid meets or exceeds $200K. In addition, a Performance and Payment Bond with additional insurance will be required once bid is Awarded and bid meets or exceeds $200K.
