Renovation of a mixed-use development in Seattle, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and medical facility.
UWMC Elevators 212, 213, 214 Modernization - Critical Patient Care Rosters A and B Only The University of Washington has determined that an overall aspirational goal of 20% Business Equity Enterprise (BEE) utilization, inclusive of 15% minority and women-owned business utilization, is practicable and attainable on this construction project; that goal is negotiable based upon the specialized nature of the work and the relative availability of BEE to perform the specific work scopes identified in this project. The University of Washington welcomes the participation of all BEE, irrespective of gross revenues, including those that are self-designated and those that are state (OMWBE) certified. Participation may be on a direct basis in response to this invitation to bid, or as a subcontractor or supplier Scope of work includes the modernization of a (3) bank elevator hoistway including elevator cars 212, 213, 214, and the elevator machine room. This elevator bank is back of house patient transport and service elevators serving the cascade tower. These elevators are traction elevators, and are original to the 1983 building, and are nearing end-of-life. Replacement of major elevator components, and alterations to the pressurization system, mechanical, and electrical systems are included in the scope of work. The scope of work also includes the interim maintenance and ongoing maintenance that coincides with the warranty. The interim maintenance period will begin after the award of the modernization (or after the first elevator is removed from normal operation for modernization), until the modernization work is completed, and the last elevator is returned to normal operation.
