The project involves the rehabilitation of the existing lift station located at 5511 Lilac Street in the City of Katy. The project also includes all labor, equipment, materials, and incidentals required for the project. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than 5% of total bid amount, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute the required bonds within ten days after notice of award. At the option of the bidder, the guarantee may be one of the following: a. Cashier's check or certified check upon a national or state bank, payable to the City of Katy. b. Bid bond from a surety company listed in the latest issue of U.S. Treasury Circular 570, such bid bond being within the maximum amount specified for such company in that publication. Bids without such guarantee will not be considered. The successful bidder must furnish Performance Bond and Payment Bond on the forms provided in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price from a Surety acceptable to the Owner. Owner reserves the right to award the contract at any time within ninety (90) days after bid opening. Award of this contract will be made on the basis of the lowest responsive responsible bid and references. The right is reserved as the interest of the Owner may require, to reject any or all bids, and to waive any informality in bids received. roposed Project Summary a. The project involves the rehabilitation of the existing lift station located within the right of way of Lilac Street in the City of Katy. The scope of work is to rehabilitate the lift station while keeping the existing wet well basin intact. All new submersible pumps, hardware, piping, and slabs will be installed and a new electric service by CenterPoint Energy will be provided. Some of the existing equipment will be relocated due to the recent installation of it. The new electric service at the lift station will also include the necessary switchgear to meet service standards, including a manual transfer switch for connection to a portable generator, if necessary. The existing fence will be replaced, and the interior of the lift station site will be paved. a. Coordination with CenterPoint Energy will be required as soon as the project is awarded for work on both lift stations to ensure no delays are brought to the project (see Specification 16401 - Electric Utility). i. Make application with CenterPoint for disconnect and removal of existing service and installation of new service. ii. Consult with CenterPoint on new service requirements. iii. Assist owner with completion of necessary forms. Coordinate schedule with CenterPoint. Bidders desiring additional information or clarification of technical specifications, plans or other documents must make written requests for such information to the Professional as theOwner's representative prior to 96 hours before the deadline specified for receipt of bids.
