**As of May 01, 2025, the project was awarded to Juniper Construction Company, Inc, with an awarded amount of $81,480.65.** Construction services to provide landscaping and exterior site improvements outside an existing dormitory complex. Project Location: Mason Fairfax, Virginia Campus Scope of Services: Construction services to provide landscaping and exterior site improvements outside an existing dormitory complex. Work Schedule: Work can be performed during the hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Approval from Mason's Project Manager is REQUIRED for any work performed outside of these days and hours. Mason requires forty-eight (48) written notification by Contractor and approved by Mason's Project Manager before any work is performed outside of these days and hours. Any and all overtime and weekend work is REQUIRED to receive written approval from Mason's Project Manager before contractor can commence any overtime or weekend work. Site Visits: The Contractor shall have visited the Site prior to bidding or submitting its proposal and is totally responsible for having ascertained pertinent local conditions such as location, accessibility and general character of the Site, and the character and extent of existing conditions, improvements and work within or adjacent to the Site. The Contractor shall not submit any claims or any request for adjustments of the Contract Price or Contract Completion Date, which result from its failure to consider such conditions. The building(s) are open to the public and you are welcome to walk through any areas accessible to the public. Please do not talk to students or staff about this IFB/scope as they will not be able to address your questions. Do not try to enter any locked or private areas. Procedures for submitting a bid, claiming an error, withdrawal of bids and other pertinent information are contained in the Instructions to Bidders, which is part of the Invitation for Bids. Withdrawal due to error in bid shall be permitted in accord with Section 9 of the Instructions to Bidders and 2.2-4330, Code of Virginia. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The contract shall be awarded on a lump sum basis as follows: Contractor registration is required in accordance with Section 54.1-1103 of the Code of Virginia. See the Invitation for Bids for additional qualification requirements. 5. Contractor is required to submit a project schedule utilizing the project dates stated within this Invitation for Bid with bid submission. Submission of project schedule, that is a solicitation requirement, that does not meet the Invitation for Bid project dates as stated, will be considered a non-responsive bidder bid submission. 6. Any bid in response to this solicitation shall be valid for sixty (60) calendar days. At the end of the sixty (60) calendar days the bid may be withdrawn at the written request of the bidder. If the bid is not withdrawn at that time, it remains in effect until an award is made or the solicitation is canceled. 7. If a Bid Bond is required, Contractor is required to complete, execute and submit the HECO-10.2 with bid submission. Bonding requirements are outlined below within Item 3 - Bonding Requirements. All bid submissions greater than $500,000.00 will require the following bonds a) HECO-10 - Standard Performance Bond b) HECO-10.1 - Standard Labor and Material Payment Bond c) HECO-10.2 - Standard Bid Bond (bond is completed, executed and submitted with bid). Bidders Questions must be submitted through Electronically on or before Friday, 21 February 2025 by COB. Responses to questions will be issued by Addendum. Owner reserves the right to respond to any questions received after the date as indicated in the Invitation for Bid. Mason's Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is committed to providing resources, programs and guidelines to George Mason University Community. Towards this effort, we collaborate with the University Community in order to sustain a healthful and safe working environment. Project Award Date: 21 March 2025 Construction Start Date: 24 March 2025 Substantial Completion Date: 23 May 2025 Final Completion Date: Thirty (30) calendars day after substantial completion date The scope includes the Owner furnished/ Contractor installed work notes on plans. Construction area is limited by the LOD linetype. It will include mostly 2 patio floors, retaining wall, pergola, electrical work and light bollards; and bikerack. See plans. Landscape planting plan is provided for information only. This is not part of the contractor's bid scope. Only damaged areas within or without the LOD are to be restored with sod. Notes were added for additional clarification to bidders on owner furnished/ Contractor installed items, retaining wall extension and other. Contractor is responsible to transport the owner furnished equipment from the warehouse to the site and install it. Bidders to submit RFIs (Questions) by Friday 2/21/25 No oral explanation in regard to the meaning of drawings and specifications will be made and no oral instructions will be given before the award of the Contract. The Owner shall not be responsible for any conclusions, assumptions or interpretations made by bidders during the preparation of bids that are contrary to the drawings and specifications and their clear intent. Discrepancies, conflicts, errors, omissions or doubts as to the meaning of drawings and specifications shall be communicated in writing to the Architect / Engineer for interpretation. Bidders must submit questions electronically through Mason's Construction Management Software Program, e-Builder and must submit questions to Mason by the date shown in the Invitation for Bid, to allow sufficient time for an addendumto reach all bidders before the submission of their bids.
