Renovation of a mixed-use development in Schenectady, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

A Bid Bond or Certified Check made payable to the Owner in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid, subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders, must be deposited by each Bidder with his Bid as a guarantee that, in the case the contract is awarded to him, he will then, ten days thereafter, execute such contract and furnish a satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond, and the Bidder shall not withdraw his Bid for a period of forty-five days after the above date of Bid opening, and to guarantee the performance of all other obligations of the Bidders as set forth in Instructions to Bidders. All RFIs must be received, by the Architect, no later than March 11th at 3pm. Doc note: Bidders for Prime Contract Work may obtain physical Contract Documents at the office of 2215 Central Avenue Schenectady, NY 12304 (518-463-2192) or bidsupport@godataflow.com. Bid Documents will require a bid deposit of One-Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for each set of documents requested. Payments to be done by credit card through the online website. Any Contract Document holder, upon returning the Contract Documents in good condition within thirty (30) days of the award of contract, or rejection of proposals, will be refunded the full amount of deposit to the same credit card used for purchase. Any Bidder after thirty (30) days after Bid opening or Non-Bidder so returning such a set will not be refunded. The Board of Education hereby reserves the right to waive any informalities and reject any or all Bids or to accept the one that in its judgment will be for the best interest of the school district. 1. Renovation of Classrooms, Offices Corridors, and other support areas in the A/B portions of the building. 2. Site Improvements including a New Parking Lot, related hardscape, resurfacing of existing parking lot(s) and perimeter fencing. 3. Refer to the list of specifications and drawings located in the specifications Table of Contents for drawings included in the Contract Documents. Work in the Plumbing Contract includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Plumbing fixtures. 2. Domestic water distribution. 3. Sanitary waste. 4. Special plumbing systems as shown in the contract documents. 5. Plumbing related equipment infrastructure provided by Plumbing Prime Contractor, and final connections to equipment. B. Work in the Plumbing Contractor's Contract includes, but is not limited to, the following Divisions of Work and Specification Sections: 1. Division 00 as it pertains to Plumbing Contractor. 2. Division 01 as it pertains to Plumbing Contractor. 3. Division 02 as it pertains to the Plumbing Contractor. a. 024119 as it pertains to the Plumbing Contractor. 4. Division 07 Specification Section the following section: a. 079200 as it pertains to the Plumbing Contractor. 5. Division 22 all specifications sections in their entirety. 6. Division 23 all specification sections in their entirety. C. Perform Work required and indicated on all Contract Drawings as it pertains to the aforementioned Specification Sections. D. The Plumbing Contractor shall furnish and install all sleeves and inserts necessary to complete their work. The Plumbing Contractor shall pay special attention to and coordination thereof for any sleeves and inserts associated with the cast-in-place concrete. The Plumbing Contractor shall locate the sleeves and provide necessary information for placement. The Plumbing Contractor will be responsible for core drill any penetrations within the cast-in-place concrete because of the failure to coordinate. E. The Plumbing Contractor shall firesafe all penetrations in rated assemblies. This shall include new construction, existing to new construction, and existing construction. F. The Plumbing Contractor shall include layout of all roof and wall penetrations associated with their work and coordinate with the other prime contractors. G. The Plumbing Contractor shall coordinate their rough-in with all equipment/appliances shop drawings, submittals, and Contract Documents. H. The Plumbing Contractor shall provide piping, temporary or permanent, from the roof drains at the time of the installation of the roof or portions thereof. The piping shall control all water to eliminate the possibility of any type of damage. The Plumbing Contractor is responsible for temporary protection and piping as required to keep the building watertight. The Plumbing contractor is responsible for coordinating with the General Trades Contractor for schedule. I. The Plumbing Contractor shall furnish and install concrete pads and/or bases for equipment or component requiring such unless specifically shown in the Contract Drawings to be provided by the General Trades Contractor. The Plumbing Contractor shall refer to Division 03 for concrete mix designs. J. The Plumbing Contractor shall be aware that there is work above ceilings where the ACT ceilings are not scheduled to be removed. In instances where plumbing work is required, the Contractor requiring access above the ceiling to perform their work shall be responsible for the removal, storage, protection, and reinstallation of any/all components required to restore the ceilings to its original condition. The Contractor shall verify the existing ceiling conditions with photographs prior to the commencement of removals. Failure to document existing conditions with photographs shall signify the Contractor accepts the current condition of the ceilings that there are no defects or concerns. K. The Plumbing Contractor shall furnish all access panels and access doors required to access components that require such for installation by the General Trades Contractor. The Plumbing Contractor shall refer to Division 08 for requirements. Access doors in rated assemblies are required to be fire rated.
