The City of Lacombe has a geodatabase of 1,251 valves and is looking for uninterrupted (active system) valve inspection and operation of each valve. This will be completed over 3-4 years. When in good repair, valves play a critical role in the system's operation and risk mitigation by reducing the impact area during planned maintenance activities and emergency repairs. However, the City does not have available maintenance and GIS data, which leads to assumptions about the operability of the vast majority of system valves.
