Russellville Independent Schools Will Be Accepting Sealed Bids for the Russellville Independent Schools Culinary Arts Renovation Project All Bids Must Be Accompanied by a Certified Check or Bid Bond Payable to The Russellville Independent Board of Education in an Amount Not Less Than 5% of The Bid Total. No Bidder Shall Withdraw His/her Bid for a Period of 60 Days After the Date Set for Bid Opening. The Owner Reserves The Right to Waive Any Informalities or Irregularities in Bids Received and Shall Have the Right to Reject Any and All Bids. Project consist of the renovation of approximately 3,400 SF to former welding shop at the Russellville Innovation Academy into a new state of the art Culinary Arts lab and classroom. General demolition of various existing interior masonry walls, concrete floor slab, windows, doors, frames, mechanical ductwork, plumbing fixtures, piping, and electrical items and any other items indicated to be demolished in the Construction Documents. New construction consists of constructing new metal stud walls with gypsum wall board, metal stud and gypsum wall board furring, concrete floor slab, doors/frames/hardware, aluminum & hollow metal frame windows, LVT floor covering, porcelain floor tile, acoustical ceiling tiles and grid, interior painting, casework, interior windows, commercial kitchen equipment and exhaust system, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. A. General: The control system shall be as indicated on the drawings and described in the specifications. B. Direct Digital Control (DDC) technology shall be used to provide the functions necessary for control of mechanical systems on this project. C. The control system shall accommodate simultaneous multiple user operation. Access to the control system data should be limited only by operator password. Multiple users shall have access to all valid system data. An operator shall be able to log onto any workstation on the control system and have access to all appropriate data. D. The control system shall be designed such that each mechanical system will be able to operate under stand-alone control. As such, in the event of a network communication failure, or the loss of any other controller, the control system shall continue to independently operate under control. E. Communication between the control panels and all workstations shall be over a high-speed network. All nodes on this network shall be peers. The operator shall not have to know the panel identifier or location to view or control an object. Application Specific Controllers shall be constantly scanned by the network controllers to update point information and alarm information. F. The documentation is schematic in nature. The Contractor shall provide hardware and software necessary to implement the functions and sequences shown. SCOPE OF WORK (1) The project consists of the replacement of an existing fire alarm system with a new hybrid fire alarm control panel which shall refeed all the existing zones during construction to maintain fire alarm coverage. New field devices shall be installed per the documents and shall be addressable as detailed in other portions of this specification. The gymnasium requires a voice-fire alarm system and intelligibility coverage shall be provided in the gymnasium and adjacent bleacher risers. A separate expander panel providing voice capability shall be provided and interfaced with the new fire alarm control panel. The new fire alarm control panel shall be provided with an IP dialer. (2) Furnish and install a complete digital multiplex Fire Alarm System as described herein and as shown on the plans; to be wired, connected, completely tested, and left in first class operating condition. The system shall use individually-addressable digital multiplex device circuit(s) with individual device supervision, appliance circuit supervision, incoming normal and standby power supervision. In general, systems shall include a control panel, manual pull stations, automatic fire detectors, horns, flashing lights, annunciator (if indicated), raceways, all wiring, connections to devices, connections to valve tamper switches, water flow switches and mechanical controls, outlet boxes, junction boxes, and all other necessary materials for a complete, operating system. The fire alarm control panel shall allow for loading or editing of any special instructions or operating sequences as required. No special tools, modems, or an off-board programmer shall be required to program the system to facilitate future system expansion, building parameter changes, or changes as required by local codes. All instructions shall be stored in a resident non-volatile programmable memory. (3) All panels and peripheral devices shall be the standard product of a single manufacturer and shall display the manufacturer's name of each component. Any catalog numbers specified under this section are intended only to identify the type, quality of design, materials, and operating features desired.
