Asbestos Abatement Services For Capital Flooring Replacement at Claymont Elementary, Green Trails Elementary and Administration. Capital Flooring Asbestos Abatement OWNER BID NUMBER 25-137 At Claymont Elementary School Green Trails Elementary School Administrative Center Estimated Construction Budget: $100,000 This project consists of abatement and disposal of asbestos-containing floor tile and/or mastic, either exposed or under carpet at Claymont and Green Trails Elementary Schools. A separate Project Information Form (PIF) specific to each facility, is included in the Project Manual and will provide greater detail of work as it pertains to that facility. Where asbestos-containing floor tile and mastic are under carpet, carpet may be removed prior to abatement of the floor tile, and disposed of as construction debris, provided the floor tile does not become dislodged during carpet removal. If floor tile becomes dislodged, stop, and remove carpet during abatement, and dispose of as ACM. Abatement and disposal of flooring materials includes the cove base and all fillers or floor leveling compounds. For bid purposes, assume carpet to be disposed of as asbestos-containing debris. Contractors to assume 10% of the floor has a floor filler or leveling compound to be included in their bid. Prior to visual inspection for clearance air sampling, remove solvent residue from floor using hot water and a degreaser agent. Contractor to field verify estimated quantity of all materials, and actual site conditions. Submit asbestos notification to St. Louis County Department of Health as required. Contractor to include costs associated with transportation and disposal of ACM and construction debris in its proposal. Contractor to protect all existing finishes in the work areas not being abated. The contractor shall also protect floor finishes in adjacent areas used to access the work areas. The containment(s) will undergo aggressive air sampling, with air samples analyzed utilizing Transmission Electron Microscopy (T.E.M) methodology. Contractor to incorporate the time needed for TEM analysis into their schedule.
