Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Chariton, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

This project in general includes work at the Chariton Middle School - Northwest Corner Structural Remediation and Pavement Replacement Project includes structural stabilization of some of the exterior masonry walls at the northwest corner of the middle school building, the full replacement of the pavement adjacent to the main entry, the full replacement of the bus-loop pavement, some replacement of adjacent paving at the driveway entry into the middle school parking lot, an additional drive into the existing parking lot and replacement of some adjacent and nearby sidewalk pavement near the main entry, parking lot entry, and the bus loop. The project also includes the installation of a below grade drainage system along the northwest and west side of the building that connects to an existing drainage system (installed in summer of 2024). Construction Timeline: Construction to begin after receipt of signed contract and after school is dismissed for the Summer, which is approximately May 30, 2025. Substantial Completion Date August 1, 2025 and Final Completion Date August 15, 2025. Bid Security in the amount of 5% of the bid in the form of a Bid Bond on form AIA A310, cashier's check, certified share draft or certified check drawn on an Iowa bank or credit union chartered under the laws of the United States shall accompany each bid in a separate, sealed envelope. Bid Security shall be payable to Chariton Community School District. Upon award of a contract, the successful Contractor will be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond equal to 100% of the awarded Contract amount, and within the time set forth within the Contract Documents. The Contractor shall also furnish a copy of its Certificate(s) of Insurance showing coverage is being provided consistent with that stated within the Project Manual. The Bid shall be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder meeting the project specifications. However, the Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract deemed to be in the best interests of the Chariton Community School District.
