Little Rock Zoo - Cafe Africa Roof Replacement The Little Rock Zoo is seeking a qualified roofing contractor to provide professional services for the replacement of the Cafe Africa Roof. The City of Little Rock encourages participation from MBE/DBE/WBE & SBA vendors. Replacement 1. Setup safety and fall protection to meet or exceed OSHA guidelines 2. Remove existing membrane from all walls,curbs,and entire field (existing insulation to remain as it is in great condition...Note: therewill be possible replacement of insulation around scuppers 3. Layout and mechanically fasten new GAF 60mil TPO membrane throughout entire roof upper and lower sections over existing insulation using heavy duty fasteners with correct fastening pattern per GAF specifications. . New membrane to go over all parapet walls 4. Fabricate and install new coping cap (metal) around entire parapet wall perimeter of upper and lower roof sections...Color determined by owner. 5. All conduit that has to be removed to install the new coping cap (metal) on the Upper parapet walls need to be installed back using sealant around penetrations through the cap. 6. Replace rotted decking visible from inside of cafe and any that is discovered during removing existing membrane. 7. Raise (2) HVAC units Northeast corner and Southwest corner of lower roofs to replace collapsed supports and to fully insure membrane terminates properly under units..And raise (2) HVAC units on the South Men's and Women's Restrooms to replace curbs with a 8" metal curb to fully insure membrane terminates properly under units. 8. Remove HVAC ductwork where necessary to properly terminate new membrane to wall and reinstall ductwork. 9. Flash all walls by installing new 1/2 ' HD board iso using Olybond 500 low rise foam adhesive and the.n directly adhere new TPO membrane directly to the HD board per GAF specs 10. Raise skylight curbs on upper roof using 2x8's Treated and 1/2 " plywood Treated to proper height per manufacturer warranty specifications..Clean all sealant on skylights and reinstall and re-seal to insure a water tight seal. 11. Flash in existing drains using new TPO membrane and flash in all scuppers using TPO coated metal and TPO unsupported membrane per GAF specs. We have had trouble in the past with Squirrels chewing holes in the unsupported TPO scuppers where it penetrates the wall. 12. Install new TPO pipe boots around all penetrations that require pipe boots and field wrap all penetrations that will not accept pipe boots to insure a water tight seal 13. Replace the collector heads and downspouts with new metal same color as the new coping caps. 14. The two existing metal roofs one on the south side and one on the west side will not be replaced. 15.
