Site work and new construction of a museum in Austin, Texas. Working plans call for the construction of a 30,000-square-foot, four-story above grade museum; and for site work for a museum.
The existing 3-story Mexic-Arte Museum will be demolished and construct of an approximately 30,000 square feet, 4-story museum with functional first floor including, but not limited to, an entrance lobby, giftshop, loading area, gallery, and the required circulation and service spaces on the first floor. African American 3.24% Hispanic American 3.25% Native/Asian American 2.89% WBE 4.76% The City of Austin (City), hereafter referred to as Owner, desires to select a Construction Manager-at-Risk firm through a one-step evaluation and selection process. This solicitation complies with applicable City Policy and state of Texas law, including Texas Government Code Title 10, Subtitle F, Chapter 2269. Owner will select the successful Offeror that offers the best value to the City based on the published Evaluation Criteria. Owner will evaluate and rank each responsive submittal with respect to the published Evaluation Criteria contained in this solicitation expeditiously. Owner may determine that it is necessary to interview Offerors prior to making a recommendation to the City Council. The project budget is currently Thirteen Million Dollars ($13,000,000). The project is located in downtown Austin and the site encompasses the existing 3-story MexicArte Museum that will be demolished and construct of an approximately 30,000 square feet, 4- story museum with functional first floor including, but not limited to, an entrance lobby, giftshop, loading area, gallery, and the required circulation and service spaces on the first floor. The Construction Manager at Risk (CMR) will be brought on early in the design phase for preconstruction services, such as design-phase cost control, constructability reviews, and construction phase services. The Construction Manager-at-Risk and the Design Consultant are both required to work together to recommend scope achievable with the available funding and schedule. The final selection of the CMR firm for this project is anticipated to be completed and submitted to the Austin City Council for action by June, 2025. There will be no site visit.
