As of December 2025, the project has been delayed due to utility issues. Construction documents are underway. A tentative bid schedule for contractors has not been disclosed. A firm timeline has not been determined. The completion timeline has not been established. Plans call to significant improvements to a 2.52-mile stretch of Lower Seguin Road. The two-lane road is in poor condition with several base failures. The corridor regularly sees heavy traffic and congestion. The city will reconstruct the roadway with a stronger pavement section designed to support current and future traffic. Additional turn lanes will be factored into the roadway’s design to ease congestion. The project will require the city to widen the roadway, providing additional space to accommodate motorized traffic. A traffic signal will be installed to coordinate vehicles entering and leaving a nearby base. Plans include improving drainage infrastructure and building a prestressed concrete slab beam bridge. Up to 600 feet of cast-in-place retaining walls will also be installed.
