Sealed bids for the following project in the City of Champaign, Champaign County, Illinois, are sought: Garden Hills Drainage Improvements Phase 3. There are two sets of diversity goals in place for this project: (1) A utilization goal of 10% MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) and 5% WBE (Woman Business Enterprise). Utilization goals refer to the percentage of work performed by MBE or WBE subcontractors on the project. (2) A workforce participation goal of 20% MBE and 15% WBE. Workforce participation goals refer to the percentage of minority and female individuals employed on a project. The project is generally described as follows: The work under this contract shall consist of proposed roadway, drainage and lighting improvements in the Garden Hills Neighborhood generally located along Paula Drive between Mattis Avenue and Mckinley Avenue, located in the City of Champaign, Champaign County, Illinois.Improvements will also include proposed storm sewer, site utilities, pavement markings, landscaping, and other miscellaneous items of work necessary to complete the construction as shown in the plans and required by the specifications. To the extent required by law, the contractor shall comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, the Veteran's Preference Act, the Employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act, the City's Equal Opportunity in Purchasing Ordinance and the Illinois Human Rights Act. If federal funds are used to finance this project, the contractor shall comply with the Davis-Bacon Act.
