Site work for a water / sewer project in Highland Park, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Replacement of existing cast-iron watermain, with approximately 42,820 linear feet of new C900 pipe with diameter sizes of 6-inch, 8-inch, and 12-inch. The project will be divided into four (4) phases. Phase 1 involves replacement of existing cast-iron watermain along Beresford Street, Winona Street, E. Buena Vista Street, Farrand Park, McLean Street, Colorado Street, Rhode Island Street, Massachusetts Street, California Street, and Connecticut Street, with new C900 pipe, approximately 77 linear feet of 6-inch and 1,188 linear feet of 8-inch diameter watermain by method of Open Cut, and approximately 22,574 linear feet of 8-inch diameter watermain by method of Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) method. This phase will also include replacement of approximately 784 lead service lines and meter replacement at each service address. Phase 2 involves replacement of existing cast-iron watermain Glendale Street, and McLean St., with new C900 pipe, approximately 276 linear feet of 12-inch diameter watermain by method of Open Cut method, and approximately 5,236 linear feet of 12-inch diameter watermain by method of HDD. Phase 3 involves replacement of existing cast-iron watermain along Second Avenue & Third Avenue, with new C900 pipe, approximately 150 linear feet of 12-inch diameter watermain by method of Open Cut, and approximately 2,836 linear feet of 12-inch diameter watermain by method of HDD. This phase will also include replacement of approximately 264 lead service lines and meter replacement at each service address. Phase 4 involves replacement of existing cast-iron watermain along Waverly Street, Tyler Street, W. Buena Vista Street, and Avalon Street, with new C900 pipe, approximately 82 linear feet of 6-inch, and 520 linear feet of 8-inch, diameter watermain by method of Open Cut, and approximately 9,883 linear feet of 8-inch diameter watermain by method of HDD. This phase will also include replacement of approximately 5 lead service lines and meter replacement at each service address. Project will be divided into four (4) phases and bidders may bid on one (1) or multiple phases. Bidder may be awarded one (1) phase or multiple phases. Considering the funding source requirements, time is of the essence for this project. If a bidder is awarded multiple phases, it will be the bidder's responsibility to ensure required manpower and resources are dedicated to this project such that the phases are completed in the contract project time. This project is funded by the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) through the American Rescue Plan (ARP), and as such, the Contract will be subject to and Contractor will be responsible for complying with the Davis-Bacon Prevailing Wage Requirements, Iran Sanctions Act, Debarment and Suspension Certification Requirements, and also EGLE regulatory guidelines for lead line replacements as necessary. Build America Buy America (BABA) and American Iron & Steel (AIS) are encouraged but not a requirement. The successful bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory performance, labor, and materials and maintenance and guarantee bonds in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract price. The total duration of the project is not to exceed 15 months in duration from the start of the project period. Start of project is tentatively April 24, 2025 and Final completion of the project is tentatively July 31, 2026. Wages: Davis Bacon/Prevailing Wages Doc Notes: Contractors must send an email requesting hard copies at least 24 hours in advance. Additional copies may be obtained at cost per copy. All qualified vendors are encouraged to bid on all City of Highland Park construction projects. Anticipated Award Date: April 21, 2025
