The work will include the following items: approximately 500 LF of 12" DIP water main and 1850 LF of 8" DIP water main installation with required fittings and appurtenances. Each Proposal shall be accompanied with a deposit of cash or CERTIFIED CHECK on some bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the Proposal, said check to be made payable to the City of Graham. In lieu of the above cash or CERTIFIED CHECK, the bidder may execute a Bid Bond for the same amount. Disadvantaged Business Enterprise provisions are included in the contract. The contractor should study and become familiar with these items. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within 30 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities, by order of the City Council, City of Graham, North Carolina. DESCRIPTION A. Soils investigation report. 1. Prior to bidding, bidders may make their own surface investigations to satisfy themselves as to site conditions, but such investigations may be performed only under time schedules and arrangements approved in advance by the Engineer.
