Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Mobile, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
Summary of Work: Contractor to include all furnishing of all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary a. Assessment & Planning: a. Contractor to inspect the poles for structural integrity and any hazards. b. Contractor shall identify potential underground utilities near the poles. c. Contractors shall not use heavy equipment on ball fields but use exterior perimeter for removal. d. Contractor is responsible for removal plan and submit to Project Manager before beginning work. b. Permitting & Notifications: a. Contractor is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits. c. De-Energizing & Detaching Equipment: a. If poles support lighting or electrical components that are still energized, coordinate with the Project Manager to safely disconnect power. b. Remove attached fixtures, wiring, or signage and cap per 2020 National Electrical Code. d. Pole Removal: a. Poles to be cut to two feet below grade. b. Fill and compact any holes left behind. c. Seed and mulch surfaces with ALDOT spring mix. d. Remove debris and dispose of poles in accordance with environmental regulations. e. Protect all existing non-moveable items through the course of construction, including fences, ballfield and other surrounding poles not being removed. Verify with Project Manager if non-moveable item is in conflict with work areas. f. Protect all grass, concrete sidewalks, pads and paving. Contractor shall be responsible for re-pouring any concrete cracked or damaged through the course of the work. 2. Special Instructions or conditions. a. Contractors may use on-site utilities and facilities, such as power, water, staff restrooms and designated parking areas if available. Architectural Engineering Department will request tree trimming, as may be determined necessary, from the City's Urban Forestry Department. b. City of Mobile permits are NOT required for the construction. c. Remove waste and surplus materials, rubbish, and construction facilities from the site. d. Park facilities shall remain in use throughout the construction period. e. Receipt of Quotes shall be Wednesday, March 12, 2025. f. Any observed ambiguities, discrepancies, omissions or errors in any part of the contract documents shall be submitted as written RFIs to Shannon McIntyre at shannon.mcintyre@cityofmobile.org g. Cut off time for submission of RFIs is 2 calendar days prior to the Receipt of Quotes, or by Monday, March 10, 2025 at 3:00 PM. h. Official clarifications or corrections will be made by written addendum and posted on the City of Mobile bid website. i. 3. Splashpad quotes shall be awarded collectively based on lowest responsible quoter of all four locations combined. Quoting instructions, forms, special requirements and time. a. Quote Form. b. Use of Allowances shall be reviewed and approved by the Owner. c. Construction duration 30 calendar days. d. The successful quotes' company name must be EXACTLY the same on all documents required for the contract - Secretary of State registration, City of Mobile Business License, E-verify, Insurance forms, etc. Please review and begin to make corrections as needed before quoting, as these processes take time. e. Contractor shall provide an appropriately completed copy of the "City of Mobile Subcontracting and Major Supplier Plan" in the envelope with their Quote Form. 4. Additional Requirements at time of Contract execution: a. A valid City of Mobile business license for the duration of the contract period b. E-verify Documentation: The Beason-Hammond Taxpayer Protection Act applies to this project. Contractor shall comply with the requirements of this Act and show proof of enrollment in the E-verify program by submitting the electronically generated Federal E-verify document prior to signing of the construction contract. (see Project Manual) c. Performance Bond and Labor & Material Payment Bond are required for quotes that exceed $50,000.00 d. Certificate of Insurance in amounts and with endorsements as required by the City of Mobile (see Project Manual or Request for Quotes documents).
