Closing Time: 3:00 PM (NT) Question Acceptance Deadline 2025/03/18 03:00:00 PM NDT a) The contractor shall supply all labour, materials, and equipment necessary for the removal and disposal of garbage from the buildings identified. b) The contractor shall visit each building prior to submitting his/her tender in order to determine the quantities of garbage to be removed and any other conditions affecting the work. c) Garbage shall be removed from each building with the number of collections per week being that as outlined. d) For contracts denoted "C" requiring containers: i. The contractor shall supply, place and maintain these containers. ii. The containers shall be vermin proof, fire resistant, and constructed of minimum 22-gauge steel construction and of the capacities as outlined in List of Buildings. Containers shall be equipped with suitable lids or covers for the purpose of weather protection and/or savaging by seagulls or other like birds. The contractor shall ensure that the containers are kept in good repair, periodically disinfected and removed from the building site for washing and steam cleaning as required. iv. Containers are to be fitted with the necessary attachments to provide for the mechanical lift method to the collection vehicle. V. Containers are to be designed for top or rear loading depending on the building requirements. vi. All steel containers supplied by the contractor shall have a locking mechanism complete with keys and lockset in order that such containers can be secured between pickup times to prevent unauthorized personnel from placing waste into the containers. The contractor shall supply suitable keys to each applicable Building Manager. Contractors shall ensure that their pickup service staff are equipped with keys for applicable containers and shall be responsible for unlocking the containers as required at each pickup time. Should at any time the contractor claim they were unable to complete a pickup due to not being able to unlock the container, then credit for such a pickup will be deducted from their contract payments. The contractor will be responsible for maintaining the locking mechanism and should it become damaged they will be responsible for replacement at no cost to the owner.
