Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility; for paving for a transportation facility; and water / sewer project.

The Work generally consists of: 1. PCC Pavement Removal 2. Subsoil Drainage 3. Subgrade and Subbase Preparation and Compaction 4. PCC Pavement 5. Site Restoration 6. Traffic Control Doc Note - Documents available at Online. Copies of the Bidding & Contract Documents may be obtained at Beeline and Blue, 2507 Ingersoll Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50312 (515-244-1611) in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. A record of plan holders will be updated daily and posted on Beeline and Blue's Online Plan room. Documents are available at a cost of $25, which is refundable, provided the following conditions are met: (1) The Contract Documents are returned complete and in a reusable condition, and (2) they are returned within fourteen (14) calendar days after the award of the project. Each Bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful Bidder will enter into a Contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of Contract corporate Surety Performance and Payment Bond(s), in a form acceptable to the Board, for the faithful performance of the Contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract. The Bidder's security shall be in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the Bid and shall be in the form of a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on an FDIC insured bank in Iowa or on an FDIC insured bank chartered under the laws of the United States; or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States; or a Bid Bond on the form provided in the Contract Documents with corporate Surety satisfactory to the Board. The bid shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications. Each successful Bidder will be required to furnish corporate Surety Bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of its Contract price. Said Bonds shall be issued by a responsible Surety approved by the Des Moines Airport Authority and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless the Des Moines Airport Authority from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the Contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement caused by failures in materials and construction for a period of two (2) years from and after acceptance of the Contract. Work on the improvements shall be commenced any time after a written Notice to Proceed is issued and shall be completed as stated below. The Notice to Proceed will be issued after the preconstruction conference, which is expected to occur in March, 2024. This project shall be fully completed no later than September 26, 2025,. The Engineer's opinion of probable construction cost for the Work is between $625,000 and $690,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The Des Moines Airport Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the Authority. Excavate and construct embankments, subgrades, and subbases. A. Construct storm sewers. B. Abandon storm sewers A. Construct subdrains, subdrain cleanouts and outlets, and footing drain collectors. B. Construct storm sewer service and connections. A. Construct sanitary and storm sewer manholes to provide access to sewer systems for maintenance and cleaning purposes. B. Construct storm sewer intakes for collection of surface water and conveyance to the storm sewer system. C. Modify existing manholes and intakes as necessitated by other improvements adjacent to the manholes or intakes. A. Construct full depth PCC, asphalt, and composite patches. B. Construct partial depth PCC and asphalt patches. C. Grind existing PCC pavement surface for profile improvement using a diamond grinder. D. Mill the surface of asphalt or PCC pavement to improve the surface profile and cross-section in preparation for resurfacing. E. Clean and fill longitudinal and transverse joints and random cracks in PCC and asphalt pavement. F. Remove existing pavement and curb and gutter. G. Install epoxy coated dowel bars on transverse joints and cracks. H. Cutting and replacement of pavement cores. Includes the requirements for seedbed preparation; furnishing, applying, and covering the seed; and compaction of the seedbed. A. Furnish all materials; install, construct, maintain, and remove specified erosion control devices; at locations specified in the contract documents, or where specified by the Engineer. B. Complete the required construction work on this project, while minimizing soil erosion and controlling water pollution. Maintain these features as specified, from initial construction stages to final completion of the project. Construction survey and staking necessary for construction of the project as shown in the contract documents.
