The proposed contract requires manual brushing operations for approximately 103 hectares across three distinct blocks in the Dawson Creek Timber Supply Area, primarily in the Oetata Ridge work area of the Peace-Liard Business Area. The objective of this project is to reduce competition from broadleaf vegetation, promoting the healthy growth and development of crop trees. Brushing activities will focus on removing or controlling competing shrubs, herbs, and non crop trees species that may impede the establishment and growth of desired tree species. These blocks are being brushed to achieve conifer release towards free growing obligations. The successful contractor will be responsible for all planning brushing operations, including quality control and performance measurements. Access to work areas will be via truck, ATV, or walk-in, with challenging conditions expected due to deactivated access and block roads. Some areas maybe remote and require long drives. Contractors must follow all relevant safety protocols, environmental guidelines, and best practices for vegetation management in forestry operations.
