The work under this project shall include, but not be limited to, all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals necessary to complete the work as specified in the approved bid documents. Bidders are requested to quote unit prices for the job as listed in the bid documents. The unit prices shall be full compensation for all work required to complete the items of work involved satisfactorily. Bidders must place their Alabama State Contractors License number on the face of the bid envelope and the bid documents. All work must be completed in accordance with the approved bidding documents on file in the office of the Purchasing Agent. The attention of all bidders is called to the provisions of State Law governing "General Contractors", as outlined in ALA Code 34-8-1, et. seq. (1975), Code 39-3-5, and 39-2-12 rules and regulations promulgated pursuant thereto giving preference to resident contractors, and a nonresident bidder domiciled in a state having a nonresident preference to local contractors shall be awarded AL public contracts only on the same basis as the nonresident bidder's state awards contracts to Alabama contractors. The City may not enter into a contract with an entity which is not qualified to do business in the State of Alabama. All bidders must possess all other licenses and/or permits required by applicable law, rule or regulation for the performance of the work. Pre-qualification of bidders is not required. Each bidder shall file with his bid a bond in the amount of not less than 5% of the bid amount up to a maximum of $10,000.00, payable to the City of Florence, Alabama. Each bidder must file either a cashier's check drawn on an Alabama Bank or a bid bond executed by a surety company duly authorized and qualified to make bonds in the State of Alabama. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond of 100% of the contract price at the time of the contract's signing. Also, a Payment Bond of 50% of the contract amount will be required. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities. No bidder may withdraw their bid within sixty (60) days from the date set for receiving of the same.
