Firms wishing to bid MUST request Authorization to Bid Authorization to bid is issued to Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) pre-qualified contactors who have sufficient financial and work ratings that indicate their ability to complete work on which they wish to bid. Requests for authorization to bid shall be submitted to the County Engineer via email at eshonkwiler@hihgway.co.macon.ilus . Prospective bidders must submit their Illinois Department of Transportation Certificate of Eligibility and Affidavit of Availability c(BC 57), or a waiver letter in accordance with 44 il. Admin. Code 650.310(d) directly to the Macon County Highway Department (MCHD). The County Engineer analyzes each request for authorization to determine if the contractor has sufficient prequalification Upon determination of sufficient prequalification, notification is given via letter authorizing the contractor to bid. Subcontractors and mateial supplies are not required to be IDOT prequalified and will not be considered authorized to bid. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, bank draft, bank cashier's check or bid bond acceptable to the Owner in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid, payable without condition to the Owner as a guaranty that the Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will promptly execute the Agreement in accordance with the Proposal and the other Contract Document, and will furnish good and sufficient bond for the faithful perfomance of the work. Proposed Improvement Construction of 12" Class B Patches and Other Work as Necessary to Complete Construction as Shown in the Plans and Required by the Specificaitons
