Site work for a development in Savannah, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a development.

The general scope of the project is the removal of vegetation from the existing pond area shown on the accompanying aerial map, reducing the vegetation by incineration, disposal of ash residue and unburned debris, restoration of pond bank as needed, and restoration of the staging/ incineration area. The pond has an approximate surface area of 14.2 acres. Question Deadline 03/18/2025 at 5:00 PM ET Online Portal Goals established for this project are 30% combined MBE/WBE. Completion- 180 calendar days The general scope of the project is the removal of vegetation from the existing pond area shown on the accompanying aerial map, reducing the vegetation by incineration, disposal of ash residue and unburned debris, restoration of pond bank as needed, and restoration of the staging/ incineration area. The pond has an approximate surface area of 14.2 acres. The nature of the vegetation can be seen on the accompanying photographs and can be verified by site visit in advance of bidding. The pond and staging/ incineration area are located on private property. Access will be by use of a private road from Burkhalter Road. The access route and staging/ incineration area are shown on the accompanying exhibit. Access to the work areas shall be by right-of-entry granted to Chatham County by the property owners. The contractor shall coordinate his activities with the property owners and shall be considerate of the owners' site usage, which includes horseback riding on the perimeter and weddings and other events on adjacent property north of the pond. The specific scope of work shall include, but not be limited to, the following: Establish all-weather access road from entrance road to staging/ incineration area. Establish perimeter measures as needed to ensure that vegetative matter, debris, or ash does not leave the site or enter the storm drainage system. Prepare a plan of operations showing proposed locations of vehicle/ equipment staging, incinerator, vegetative matter drying/ stockpile area, and ash/ debris stockpile area if needed. The plan shall be submitted to Chatham County for review and approval prior to beginning work. Establish incinerator at designated location. The device shall meet all requirements of local authorities for on-site use. Contractor shall contact local authorities, including Forest Service, to inform them of pending operations and ensure that all requirements/ issues are addressed. Establish dewatering system as needed to remove water from pond area so that vegetative matter can be removed. It is anticipated that this will be done by a combination of temporary pipe and pumping to transfer the water to the adjacent open channel. Maintain the dewatering system throughout the period of work and remove it when work is complete. Remove all vegetative matter within limits of pond area. Contractor may, under appropriate conditions, apply herbicide to kill the vegetative matter prior to removal. If this option is selected, contractor shall submit a plan indicating which herbicide will be used, the concentration to be used, the method of application, and measures to be taken to protect adjacent vegetation and surface water. The plan shall be submitted to Chatham County for review and approval prior to application. If no herbicide is used, stockpile material removed for drying as needed to allow r incineration. Reduce vegetative matter by use of incinerator in accord with local requirements. Remove ash and other unburned debris from site and dispose of in accord with local requirements. When all vegetative matter has been removed and reduced, and all ash and other debris removed from site, remove all equipment, and restore the work area to approximate existing conditions. The lump sum price bid for "Pond Restoration "shall include all the work indicated above and shall also include other measures not specifically listed but necessary to complete the work items. The price shall include costs for supervision, insurance, bonds and shall include all costs and fees associated with disposal of waste. The Field Condition Allowance is for the purpose of covering costs for work directed by Chatham County which is outside of or in addition to the scope of work. The Field Condition Allowance shall be included in the total for all bids and shall only be used as authorized by the County. Any unused portion of the Field Condition Allowance shall remain with the County for repurposing when the project is complete.
