Scope of Work: Pool Inspections (if requested by the Board of Education) 1. Test Chemtrol 2000 chemical analyzer. This unit monitors the water for chlorine and PH levels. The probes are to be cleaned and controller calibrated. 2. Inspect the chlorine feeder. The unit is to be cleaned and filled at each inspection. 3. Inspect and clean hair and lint strainers. 4. Inspect circulating pump. 5. Inspect Signet flow meter for proper water flow through the circulating system. Calibrate if necessary. 6. Test swimming pool water for the following: o Free chlorine o Total chlorine o Combined chlorine o PH o Calcium hardness o Total alkalinity 7. Backwash the filters when necessary. 8. Inspect pool for water clarity and water level. 9. Inspect and calibrate water leveling system. 10. Make repairs to equipment when needed. Contractor Qualifications: Contractor is to meet the following criteria and produce certificates from each manufacturer/distributor: 1. Contractor is to hold a Connecticut SP-1 contractor's license and all techs must carry SP-2 licenses. 2. Contractor is to be a factory authorized Chemtrol service center. 3. Contractor is to maintain an inventory of Chemtrol parts, including circuit boards, relays, ORP and PH probes. 4. Contractor is to be an authorized Marlow dealer and repair center. 5. Contractor is to be an authorized Signet dealer and factory-trained service center. Contractor Requirements: 1. If less than one hour is worked, the vendor will be entitled to a minimum of 1 hour for the first person. Time worked beyond 1 hour will be paid in quarter hour increments. Any time charged for work done in the vendor's shop is to be accompanied by a copy of the time card. 2. The vendor will provide free estimates, if requested by the Town. 3. No guarantee is made as to the amount of work which will be required during the course of this contract. 4. Contractor is to be a licensed contractor in the State of Connecticut. A copy of this license is to be given to the Supervisor of Buildings & Grounds before work can commence. 5. Upon entering and signing in at each school the Contractor is to show identification. 6. Technicians used in this work are to have a minimum experience of 2 years or more in this field of work. 7. Bidder is to submit at least 2 current references within the last 3 years where similar work was performed by the bidder. 8. All work is to be done on a call/need basis for normal repairs. 9. Each time a service call is made, the technician is to fully complete a work performance form to substantiate time spent at the site, work performed, and material used. The work performance form will be necessary in order to make payment for services and repairs. Individual invoices for each job completed, including labor hours and material costs are to be submitted. Labor will be paid on an hourly basis. Invoice is to be for actual time on the job. Travel time will not be paid. 10. Contractor is to provide twenty-four (24) hour service and maintain a telephone service for response to emergency service calls for 24 hours, 7 days per week. 11. Response to emergency calls is to be made within one (1) hour and response to normal non emergency calls are to be made within twenty-four (24) hours. 12. Interested bidders are encouraged to set up an appointment to visit and inspect the pool before submitting a bid in order to familiarize themselves with work requirements. The principal and/or head custodian at the school will assist in inspection and review. Failure to visit the school will not relieve the contractor of their obligation to confirm their ability to perform the work indicated in the specifications. Clarification Deadline 3/27/2025 5:00 PM
