Storm surge from Hurricane Nicole eroded the dune along New Smyrna Beach rendering many seawalls ineffective as wave action circumnavigated around seawall returns. This project would extend the seawall returns further west stabilizing the public beach access points, backfill any erosion damage and reestablish public access to the dune walkovers and the beach. This single project encompasses 3 work sites. Seawalls at 14th Avenue, 15th Avenue and 29th Avenue in New Smyrna are all included in this singular bid. The County of Volusia, Public Works Department, Coastal Division is seeking a single, responsive and responsible bidder for the construction of Hurricane Nicole Seawall Extensions and Repairs for 14th, 15th, and 29th Avenues in New Smyrna Beach located at 14th, 15th, and 29th Avenues in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. The lowest responsive and responsible bidder shall be responsible for all applicable permitting, labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, services, and incidentals necessary to complete all Work required by the specifications and as shown on the drawings.
