Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. Design plans call for the construction of a 65,000-square-foot, two-story above grade, 240-seat educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
Replacement of the elementary school. The new 240-seat elementary school will include two kindergarten classrooms and eight elementary classrooms, a neighborhood learning center for future child-care spaces and a high-efficiency heat pump that will provide heating and cooling while reducing greenhouse-gas emissions by about 50 per cent, according to the province. Classrooms and main areas will use prefabricated construction to speed up the project, while the school's gym will be built using regular construction methods. TIMELINE: Design is underway. Tender for general contractor may be issued by invitation, to close on 7/31/26 at 2pm. Details to be released soon. The RFP for design assistance to the Architect closed, award is pending. Tender and construction timelines are undetermined. Further update in early fall, 2026.
