As of May 20, 2025 project was awarded to Falkenberg Construction Co. Inc in the amount $237,626.50. The director of public works of the city of Hutchins, Texas, for the Hutchins gateway signs project for the city of Hutchins, Texas, hereinafter called "City" in Accordance with plans, specifications, and contract documents adopted by the city council of the City of Hutchins, Texas, prepared by Ron Hobbs architecture & interior design, LLP. The Contractor shall identify his bid on the outside of the envelope by writing the name of his company or corporation and the name of the project. Bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's check or certified check upon a national or state bank in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid price payable without recourse to the City of Hutchins, or a bid bond in the same amount from a reliable surety company, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute Performance Bond within ten (10) days after notice of award of contract to him. All bids shall be on a lump sum basis and all alternates must be bid. The Contractor will be required to furnish surety bonds guaranteeing the faithful performance of the work and the payment of all obligations arising thereunder, each in the penal sum of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum. The premiums for such bonds shall be paid by Contractor. The Contractor shall issue an exemption certificate in lieu of the tax n the purchase, rental or lease of all materials, supplies, equipment, and other tangible personal property incorporated into the real property being improved; and all materials, supplies, equipment, and other tangible personal property used or consumed by the Contractor in performing the contract with the Owner. The Owner qualifies for exemption from the state and local sales and use taxes, pursuant to the provisions of Section 151.309 of the Texas Limited Sales, Excise and Use Tax Act. Therefore, the Contractor shall not pay such taxes which would otherwise be payable in connection with the performance of this contract. Submit all questions about the Drawings and Specifications to the Architect in writing. Replies will be issued to all bidders of record as addenda to the Drawings and Specifications and will become part of the Contract. The Architect and Owner will not be responsible for oral clarification. Questions received less than 48 hours before the Bid Opening cannot be answered. A bid may not be modified, withdrawn or cancelled by the Bidder during the period of 60 days following the time and date designated for the receipt of Bids. The time (allotted for the completion of all items of work) shall begin on the tenth (10th) day after the issuance of the "Notice to Proceed. The undersigned hereby proposes to furnish all supervision, labor, material, equipment, tools and necessary accessories for the construction of the HUTCHINS GATEWAY SIGNS project in the Drawings, Project Manual and Addenda as prepared by RON HOBBS ARCHITECTURE & INTERIOR DESIGN, LLP dated March 6, 2025, Architect's. The right is reserved by the Mayor and the City Council as the interest of the City may require, to reject any and all bids, and to waive any informality in bids received.
