Ministry Responsibility The Ministry of Forests, Rocky Mountain Natural Resource District, Engineering Program, is legislated under the Forest Practices and Planning Regulation, Section 79 to maintain Forest Service Roads. This contract will be administered by the Senior Engineering Technologist for the Rocky Mountain District. Background Roads selected for grading are based on the Ministry of Forests Engineering Funding Policy. Conducting maintenance on FSRs servicing high value recreation, rural residential and community access. These roads typically see higher amounts of traffic. Grading and other maintenance of these FSRs will help to maintain a safe driving surface for public use and promote natural drainage, to prevent environmental damage. Scope This is a Minor Works contract on multiple FSRs within the Rocky Mountain Natural Resource District. The objective of the works is to provide safe access for the public to High Value Rec Sites and Trails, Parks, Rural Residences and Communities. Works will be assigned priority and prescribed by the Ministry Representative.Anchor The work includes, but are not limited to; grading, culvert intake/outlet clean out, snag/woody debris/rock ravel removal, bridge deck cleaning and road Km sign replacement. All required materials (i.e. culverts posts, Km signs, sign posts) to be supplied by the Ministry of Forests. Contractor will be required to haul the materials and place them under this contract. Pick up of materials will be the MOF Cranbrook office/compound. Materials may also be delivered to site by the Ministry Representative. Most works planned for this contract can be performed by one grader, and one swamper.
