The City of Melissa, Texas is accepting sealed bids for construction of: Trail Crossing SH 121 at Brookside Drive. The project is generally described as: Trail Construction, for the City of Melissa, Texas as shown in plans prepared by Westwood Professional Services, Inc. The Mayor and the City Council of Melissa, Texas reserve the right, as the interest of the City may require, to reject any and all bids, and to waive any informality in bids received. No officer or employee of the City of Melissa shall have a financial interest, direct or indirect, in any contract with the City of Melissa. General Conditions and General Specifications used in this project are contained in the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction - North Central Texas, 2017 Edition and the Standard Specifications for Construction and Maintenance of Highways, Streets, and Bridges - TxDOT 2014 Edition. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed to the Engineer. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by the Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than five days prior to the date of opening of bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by written Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. Each Bid must be accompanied by a bid security made payable to the Owner in an amount of not less than 5% of the Bidder's maximum bid price and in the form of either a cashier's check, certified check, or a Bid Bond as specified in the General Provisions. Bid Bonds furnished must be in general agreement with the provisions of the form provided. Bid security shall be placed at the beginning of the submitted bid package or the bid may not be accepted.
