This project consists of the installation of pre-purchased materials, including approximately two thousand nine hundred forty (2,940) linear feet of sewer line, pre-cast concrete manholes, services, and cleanouts. The Contractor will be responsible for all aspects of the installation, including the provision of bedding material and trench safety, as these items will not be furnished by the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities and to reject any or all bids. Bids held by the Owner for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders prior to awarding the contract. Copies of the Bid/Contract Documents must be ordered online. Orders for Bid/Contract Documents may include hard copies for pick up, mail out, or digital obtain Contractors must purchase a set of Bid/Contract Documents from Jacob & Martin, LLC to be considered a registered plan holder eligible to bid the project. A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid [for those contracts that exceed $100,000]. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Coleman or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. If forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the bid must be enclosed in another envelope and addressed to Tommy Sloan, Mayor, 200 West Live Oak St., Coleman, TX 76834. BIDDER hereby agrees to commence WORK under this contract on or before a date to be specified in the NOTICE TO PROCEED and to fully complete the PROJECT within 100 consecutive calendar days thereafter, BIDDER further agrees to pay as liquidated damages, the sum of $500.00 for each consecutive calendar day thereafter as provided in Section 15 of the General Conditions.
