This solicitation is issued to allow Mesa Unified School District #4 the opportunity to frequent local suppliers and to purchase welding supplies, gasses, equipment and repairs on an as-needed basis for, but not limited to, the MPS Operations Department and the six MPS high schools welding shops, and MPS Career and Technical Education Departments. This bid has a Part A and Part B for pricing, and will be awarded accordingly. Vendors may submit pricing for only Part A, only Part B or both A & B. Part A: The vendors receiving award will provide welding supplies such as Oxygen, Acetylene and other gases to be filled (refilled) in new District-purchased tanks, existing District-owned tanks as well as tanks rented from vendor. Part B: The vendors receiving award will provide welding supplies such as welding rods, goggles, aprons, helmets, gloves, etc. This will also include repairs. Annually, Mesa Public Schools spends approximately $280,000 on this welding contract, but no volume is implied or guaranteed. This contract is utilized by the MPS Operations Department and the six high school's welding classes through the Career & Technical Ed. Department. Question Submission Deadline: March 18, 2025, 2:00pm - Question Response Deadline: March 20, 2025, 2:00pm. The purpose of this scope of work (SOW) is to outline the requirements for the procurement of welding gases, equipment/ supplies and repairs for Mesa Public Schools. The selected vendor(s) will be responsible for providing a range of welding gases, supplies/ equipment and repairs necessary for Operations Department and our Career and Technical Education programs. This is NOT an "all or nothing" bid and may be awarded to more than one vendor. Mesa Public Schools encourages vendors to respond to both parts A and B of this bid however responding vendors may choose to respond to Part A (Welding Gases) or Part B (Welding Equipment & Supplies, Repair) only. Bid prices are to be F.O.B.--Mesa School sites as shown on attachment "B". Sales tax should not be included in the bid price and will not be a consideration in the award of the bid. In the school environment, gases are used for welding in Vocational Agriculture, Art and Industrial Tech classes. The six high schools will issue an open purchase order for the entire duration of the contract and orders will be emailed to the awarding vendor on an as needed basis. The Operations Department will place orders for warehouse stock. After the bids submitted in response to an invitation for bids are opened and the award is made the governing board shall make available for public inspection all information, all bids and all findings and other information considered in determining whose bid conforms to the invitation for bids and will be the most advantageous with respect to price, conformity to the specifications and other factors to be selected for the award. District reserves the right to cancel the Contract if Contractor charges District for a replacement part that Contractor received at no cost under a warranty.
