Renovation of an educational facility in Anniston, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The Project includes re-roof of the Saks Elementary School classroom building along with new coping, gutters, and edge metal. The project also includes replacement of HVAC and kitchen exhaust units and associated electrical work. The General Contractor shall provide a fully qualified superintendent (who is also a full-time employee of the General Contractor) on-site at ALL times when work is occurring. The General Contractor will be responsible for repairing or replacing any damage inside the building resulting from the work on this Project at his expense. Maintaining a water-tight roof condition in this building is imperative. The Alabama Division of Construction Management and the Owner will NOT accept ANY ponding conditions on the new roof. The new roof must have 100% positive drainage. This requirement will not be waived. The official time will be determined by the Architect or his designated representative. A Cashier's Check or Bid Bond payable to Calhoun County Board of Education in an amount not less than 5% of the amount of the proposal, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bid. Performance and Statutory Labor and Material Payment Bonds in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price will be required at the signing of the Contract. The General Contractor awarded the Project shall be responsible for paying the Alabama Department of Finance Division of Construction Management Building Permit Fee. Liquidated damages apply to this Project per the Supplementary Conditions. All Bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of licensure before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Architect. The Bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying their current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interest of the Owner will thereby be promoted. Performance time: This is a single-phase Project and is to be completed within 180 calendar days from Notice to Proceed.
