The work includes the excavation, transport and placement of between 150,000 and 200,000 cubic yards of sand from an approaching shoal. Excavation of 150,000 cubic yards (Base Bid) up to 200,000 cubic yards (Base Bid plus Alternate Bid quantity) of beach sand over 2,600 linear feet (measured at -2 ft NAVD) of beach and placement in two fill areas spanning ~3,000 linear feet of beach located at Isle of Palms, identified as follows: Excavation Area a. Sta. 276+00 to Sta. 298+00 and seaward of the 400 ft building buffer line indicated on the Drawings – 150,000 cubic yards (Base Bid) to 200,000 cubic yards (Base Bid plus Alternate Bid) over ~2,600 linear feet (measured at -2 ft NAVD). Excavations shall be made in areas below the 0 ft NAVD contour. Fill Area 1 b. Sta. 252+00 to Sta. 268+00 (1,600 linear ft) as indicated on the Drawings. 100,000- 150,000 cy will be placed in Fill Area 1. Fill Area 2 C. Sta. 308+00 to Sta. 318+00 (1,000 linear ft) as indicated on the Drawings. 50,000- 100,000 cy will be placed in Fill Area 2. Substantial Completion of the work by June 1, 2025. Final Completion shall be June 8, 2025. Performance and Payment Bonds will be required in the amount of 100 percent of the contract. Bonds shall be in accordance with State of South Carolina Statutes.
