The SPG Water Association isinterested in acquiring the services of an Engineer to provide thenecessary engineering services toprepare plans and specificationsand oversee the project "The project consists of design and observation of the rehabilitation and improvements of a50,000 gallon standpipe and a67,500 gallon standpipe locatedoff of U.S. Highway 65 in Searcy County. The work will consist ofsandblasting and repainting theinterior and exterior of both tanks, extension of the overflow, installation of a dynamic mixing system, installation of additionalmanways, SCADA, and other improvements to bring both tanksinto compliance with the ArkansasDepartment of Health. Engineershall also provide assistance incompletion of other miscellaneous items needed in the system." The total estimated construction cost of the project is unknown at this time. The maximum amount of funds available for an engineering contract may not exceed the standard percentage of construction costs used by the funding source administrationguidelines. Requests for funds exceeding the available maximum may be considered by the SPG Water Association based on themerits of the request. The type ofexperiences desired are experience with state and federal compliance, experience planning and designing water tank rehabilitation projects, experience working on same type projects, experiencewith field supervision, and experience procuring construction contractors by competitive sealed bidprocurement. Performance willbe assessed in terms of timeliness, completing work withinbudget, and quality of work. Capacity will be evaluated in termsof number and type of staff to be assigned tasks, staff experience,and staff time availability.
