No bids will be accepted after the time specified above, and the bids and proposals will be publicly opened and read following the laws of the State of Alabama. The specified work will be awarded under a single contract, and all labor, materials, and equipment, unless noted otherwise, shall be provided by the contractor for an initial period of one year, with the possibility of renewal for two additional one-year terms upon mutual agreement between the City and the contractor. A Bid Bond of at least five percent (5%) of the total bid amount, not exceeding $10,000, must accompany each proposal. The payee of this bond will be the City of Albertville, Alabama. The Bid Bond must be dated to match the bid submission deadline and signed by an agent authorized to conduct business in the State of Alabama. All businesses will have the full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against based on race, color, gender, religion, age, disability, marital status, or national origin when considered for an award. The attention of bidders is drawn to the provisions of Section 31-13-9, Code of Alabama 1975, relating to immigration law compliance and documentation thereof (i.e., participation in the Federal E-Verify program). The successful bidder will be required to sign a contract that includes the following provision related to immigration: "By signing this contract, the contracting parties aLirm, for the duration of the agreement, that they will not violate federal immigration law or knowingly employ, hire for employment, or continue to employ an unauthorized alien within the state of Alabama. Furthermore, a contracting party found to be in violation of this provision shall be deemed in breach of the agreement and shall be responsible for all damages resulting therefrom." All bids and proposals will remain valid for sixty (60) calendar days from the date they are received. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any informalities in the bidding process, and accept any bid deemed most favorable to the owner. If a contract is awarded, it will be assigned to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, confirmed by submitting a completed, signed, and delivered bid or proposal form in accordance with the bidding instructions. Mowing o Mow uniformly (without scalping or streaking) at the appropriate height for the type of grass. (Confirm with Public Works). o The mowing equipment must include finishing mowers; bush hog-type mowers are unacceptable. o Blades should be sharp and deliver a precise cut. o All guards should be in position and functional. o Clippings should not be removed but mulched and spread evenly to prevent clumping; any large clumps should be removed. o Remove litter, including signs, before mowing. o Mowers must avoid hitting permanently a^ixed structures, trees, and shrubs. Damaged items must be replaced or repaired at the contractor's expense. o Before proceeding to the next, the contractor must complete each area, including string trimming, edging, and blowing. o To prevent rutting, the contractor shall refrain from driving heavy mowing equipment on saturated ground after heavy rain; ruts shall be repaired. o A ten-foot (10ft) section shall be mowed on both sides of the Hwy 431 and Hwy 75 roadways. All medians shall also be mowed entirely. In addition to the 10-foot section on both sides of 431 and 75 and all medians, please be aware of the following areas that fall outside this description. o 431 N. Map 7 - Hashed Area on the map requires mowing. o 431 C. Map 3 - Hashed Area on Map requires mowing. o 431 C. Map 4, 5, 6 - Please note this section is on Hwy 75. o 431 C. Map 6 - Hashed Area on Map requires mowing. o 431 C. Map 7 - Hashed Area on Map requires mowing. o 431 C. Map 8 - Hashed Area on Map requires mowing.
