Lawton School - Construction of Emergency Egress CONSTRUCTION OF EMERGENCY EGRESS at LAWTON ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL SFUSD The Project. The Project is generally described as the construction of emergency egress and miscellaneous improvements to classrooms 32, 34, and 142.The work includes, but not necessarily limited to the: Remove the existing exterior windows and sawcut new openings through the concrete walls and provide egress doors for classrooms 32 and 34 on the ground floor. Provide new exterior landing with steps and accessible ramp out to the play yard; Sawcut new opening through the existing concrete wall and provide one new egress door for classroom 142 on the first floor. Provide exterior metal staircase assembly including concrete footings Remove a low wall in room 142 and install new casework including repairs to the interior walls and floor finishes. Remove existing power and data cabling and modify to accommodate new work; Remove and modify the existing cabinets in rooms 32 and 34, including repairs to the interior walls and floor finishes Reconfigure the toilet partitions in the Boys and Girls toilets on the ground floor to provide ambulatory stalls; In accordance with the provisions of California Public Contract Code 3300, the District requires that Bidders possess the following classification(s) of California Contractors License at the time that the Bid Proposals are opened: Class B, General Building Contractor with Asbestos and Lead Certification or SubContractor with Asbestos and Lead Certification performing the work. Any Bidder not so duly and properly licensed shall be subject to all penalties imposed by law. Each Bid Proposal shall be accompanied by Bid Security in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of the Bid Proposal, inclusive of any additive Alternate Bid Item(s). Failure of any Bid Proposal to be accompanied by Bid Security in the form and in the amount required shall render such Bid Proposal to be nonresponsive and rejected by the District. Bid Proposals shall not be withdrawn by any Bidder for a period of ninety (90) days after the opening of Bid Proposals. During this time, all Bidders shall guarantee prices quoted in their respective Bid Proposals. The District reserves the right to reject any or all Bid Proposals or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any Bid Proposal or in the bidding
