The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following 1. Starr Hall Building ID: 3316 Net 36,346 sq ft. Assignable 36,346 Sq. Ft. Removal of all debris caused by this Contract. 2. Scope of work in the Starr Facilities offices 1st Floor, Ground/Basement areas & G12 Boiler Room, New Telecomm Room G12D preparation Racks, Plywood, etc. to start on Monday, May 19, 2025. 3. Scope of work in the Starr Main Building Ground - 3rd Floor that includes Classrooms, Courtrooms and Faculty Offices to start on Monday, June 16, 2025. 4. X-Ray the floor structure from the 2nd Floor Classroom 225 down to the 1st Floor Facilities offices 125 and down to the Ground/Basement Boiler Room G12 to install a vertical surface mounted pathway to rise from the Ground/Basement ceiling to the 2nd floor ceiling. 5. Protection of the public, building, grounds from damage during this contract is the responsibility of the Contractor for this project at all times. 6. Repair or replace landscaping including trees, shrubs or other planting disturbed during the Work of the contract with new to match existing, unless otherwise noted. Regrade and reseed any grass area damaged as a result of the Work. Repair any walkways or paved areas damaged as a result of the Work. Starr Hall will require a partial re-wiring of the building of infrastructure cabling including WAO's and Wireless Cat 6a infrastructure cabling. This project also includes network equipment and wireless access points replacement. UConn ITS will add a Telecomm Closet on the Basement Level G12D, due to excessive long runs in a crawl space area on the facilities side of the building. The Set-Aside Requirement for this Project is that (1) not less than thirty percent (30%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to subcontractors who are certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as "Small Business Enterprises" ("SBEs") and (2) not less than ten percent (10%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to subcontractors who are certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as "Minority Business Enterprises" ("MBEs") (the 10% set aside for MBEs may be included in the 30% set aside for SBEs). If the Contractor is an S/MBE, then any self-performed work may be included in the Set-Aside Requirement. The Contractor is responsible for ensuring that they, and the S/MBEs they have selected, are eligible Connecticut-certified S/MBE contractors.
