Submissions for pre-qualification are invited from General Contractors for the construction of the North Landfill for the Highway 155 Regional Solid Waste Management Corporation. The work includes: Development of a solid waste landfill on 51 ha of undisturbed land, including general earthwork, drainage provisions, surfacing structures, access roads, and fencing. Clearing and grubbing of the site is underway through a separate contract; Development of a 77,800 sq.m. landfill cell including primary HDPE liners, secondary liner systems, granular drainage layers and weeping tile underdrains; Development of a 17,000 sq.m. leachate collection cell; 11,300 sq.m. surface water retention cell; 11,300 sq.m. spare mixing cell; Development of a user-interface transfer station area including grade-separated ramps and retaining walls; interlocking block material segregation and processing area; material staging and open-air (covered) storage area; Construction of a 460 sq.m. three-bay maintenance facility complete with office and common spaces for employees; Construction of a 115 sq.m. attendant building and weigh scale; Access roads, site preparations, fencing, drainage provisions, municipal utilities, onsite sewage disposal facilities, and misc. site servicing throughout the site; Clean up of site; Repair of defects for one year after completion of the work. Pre-qualification documents can be obtained from the office of the Consulting Engineer. Upon successful completion of the pre-qualification process, approved General Contractors will be provided with the tender package.
