Responses to Questions Released on City’s Website Thursday, April 10, 2025 The City of Joliet, Illinois, does hereby request proposals for Laraway Road (Brandon to IL RTE 53) Grade Separation and Roadway Improvements Project. All vendors will need to self-register online for the City of Joliet. Vendors will need to accept all terms and conditions and opt in to notifications. The City of Joliet reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, parts of any and all proposals, or to waive technical errors or omissions in bids. CMAP, in partnership with the City of Joliet, is preparing a Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) study to evaluate issues/potential solutions along 1.5 miles of Laraway Road from Brandon Rd to IL 53, with a focus on the UPRR at-grade crossing. Scope of Work: The project proposes to grade separate Laraway Road from the Amtrak railroad tracks. Additional work includes widening Laraway Road to provide additional through lanes, median, and turn lanes as required. At present an unknown amount of ROW will be required. Work within State ROW is likely due to proposed turn lanes at the IL 53/Laraway Road intersection. This project is being processed as a PEL. As such, in accordance with BDE 11-7.04, a desk top database search for sensitive environmental resources is requested. Once the preferred alternative has been determined, a ESR addendum will be submitted for more complete surveys. Unknown new ROW and tree removal. No instream work. Land use urban.
