Bids are requested for the following single prime contract: general contract that involves the relocation of the administrative office area and one classroom with the construction of a new secure vestibule. Work includes bullet resistant rated doors, glazing and panels along with new finishes for the approximate 2,000 sf work area. The contract also includes mechanical, plumbing and electrical work to support the new spaces. Faxed bids will not be accepted. A $10.00 fee for postage and handling will be required for contract documents that are mailed to bidders. No bid bond shall be waived or returned because the bidder has failed to or cannot comply with any requirements set forth in the plans, specifications or any applicable statutes of the commonwealth of pennsylvania, or any applicable municipal ordinances. The project is being funded in part by a pennsylvania commission on crime and delinquency (pccd) grant, therefore pa prevailing wage rates will apply to this project. The contract documents contain requirements addressing prevailing labor wage rates, laborstandards, nondiscrimination in hiring practices and related matters. All contractors are advised that the school district will require employee background checks in accordance with act 34 of 1985, act 151 of 1994 and act 114 of 2006.
