Asphalt Mixes (Hot Mix and Cold Patch) for City and County: The City of Omaha and Douglas County are requesting bids from qualified companies, herein called Bidder, Contractor, Vendor, Supplier, or other pronouns used in their place, for all work and/or goods set forth in the specifications. Acceptable substitutes for a bid bond: a certified check, an official bank check, a cashiers checks drawn on a national bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the state, payable to City of Omaha, or lawful money of the United States, or a United States Government Bond (negotiable). Question Cutt off Date & Time 3/27/2025 02:00:00 PM (CT) Bidders must submit bid questions in the Questions tab of the bid event. Questions will be answered within one (1) day of the questions cutoff date/time. The City of Omaha and Douglas County intend to enter into a price agreement with a primary and secondary supplier. The contract period and bid prices will be in effect for one (1) year from the date of the award approval. Awarded contractor(s) agree to hold prices firm for the term of this contract. The City of Omaha and Douglas County reserve the right to offer an option to extend the term of the contract for three (3) additional one (1) year extensions upon written agreement by all parties. The City of Omaha and Douglas County recognize that future costs may change for Asphalt Mixes (Hot Mix and Cold Patch). Hot Mix Asphalt Requirements: Hot Mix Material - Paver Placed will be Mix Type SPR as specified in the City of Omaha Asphalt Standard Requirements (Effective 01/01/2024), which is attached. Binder shall be PG64-34. Hot Mix Material - Hand Placed will be Mix Type SPR Fine as specified in the City of Omaha Asphalt Standard Requirements (Effective 01/01/2024), which is attached. Binder shall be PG64-22. Hot Mix Winter Material - Is supplied during cold weather months as further described herein in the Payment section. The minimum temperature at delivery will be 300 degrees Fahrenheit measured at the rear door of the receiving vehicle. Cold Patch Asphalt Requirements - Cold mix asphalt shall be suitable for filling potholes in cold and wet conditions. Material shall be workable at a minimum temperature of 10F. Material shall adhere to existing pavement when placed even if pavement is wet and/or temperatures are below freezing. The aggregates and asphalt cement used shall conform to the supplier's specifications for cold mix asphalt design. Specifications and samples shall be submitted to the City or County upon request.
