Reference Number 0000380576 Gymnasium and Stage Floor Refinishing Services Bid Intent Optional Bid Intent Deadline 04/03/2025 04:00 PM EDT Question Deadline 04/03/2025 at 4:00 PM ET Questions are submitted online No This Scope of Work (SOW) defines the minimal acceptable performance by the Contractor in providing all materials, labor, tools, and supervision to screen and re-coat gym floors and stages; and sanding & refinishing gym floors in the Beaufort County School District. All court painting and stripping shall be re-installed as existing. 3.1.1 Each surface will be screened and re-coated during the summer months or as deemed necessary by the Director of Maintenance: The main gyms will need to be buffed and recoated a second time each year, if needed during the time period of November 1 - December 31. The Contactor must have ample staff and equipment to accommodate this schedule during these time frames. The Director of Maintenance or his representative will determine the work schedule and coordinate between the contractor and the school athletic programs. 3.1.2 The frequency of complete refinishing gym floors depends on numerous factors. The District refinishes middle and high school gyms approximately every six (6) years. The Director of Maintenance or his representative will determine this work schedule and coordinate between the contractor and the school athletic programs. The Contractor is obligated to have sufficient staff and equipment to complete this work during the summer break months. 3.1.3 It will be the responsibility of the contractor to ensure that all volleyball standard receptacles and covers are in proper working order before refinishing work begins. If devices are not in proper working order, the contractor must notify the Director of Maintenance before work begins. 3.1.4 It will be the responsibility of the contractor to tape and seal all volleyball standard cover plates and any other hardware that is installed on the floor, i.e., switch receptacles, scoreboard outlet covers and boxes. If gym finish is applied to any of the abovementioned devices, it will be the responsibility of the contractor to pay for the repair/replacement of the hardware. 3.1.5 The resident athletic director has final approval of play lines, insignias, colors, and designs before work begins. This must also be coordinated with the Director of Maintenance or his representative.
