The Springfield Water and Sewer Commission through its CPO, is seeking bids from qualified Contractors to replace railings and stairs at loading dock entrance at 71 Colton Street Springfield MA, 01109. Contractor will be responsible for furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials required to complete the work. Nature and scope of work: Remove existing railings and angle iron on concrete edge. Repair any damaged concrete. Install new angle iron on loading dock edge. Install low railings near west stairs. Install railing with swing gate and appropriate posts at center section. Replace east wooden stairs with galvanized stairs and railings and install concrete landing pad. Replace west metal stairs with new galvanized stairs and railings. Replace 3/8" galvanized plate in front of lift. Provide alternate pricing for painted steel materials. Provide materials submittals before construction. The time for Final Completion of this project is 90 calendar days from the date of the written Notice to Proceed. Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. A single Contractor will be awarded a Commission contract. The amount of the contract is estimated not to exceed $100,000.00. The bid is governed by Massachusetts General Laws (MGL) Ch.149 and other applicable procurement Statutes. Contractor must pay prevailing wages wherever applicable. The Chief Procurement Officer/designee reserves the right to reject any and all proposals if it is in the best interest of the SWSC to do so.
