Installation of Cabinets & Counter Tops at the TCSD Maintenance Building The Director of Industrial Relations of the State of California, in the manner provided by law, has ascertained the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and rate for legal holidays and overtime work. The Contractor must pay for any labor therein described or classified in an amount not less than the rates specified. For all projects over Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000), the bidder shall state the public works contractor registration number on the Designation of Subcontractors form for each subcontractor performing more than one-half of one percent (0.5%) of the bidder's total bid. The deadline for Completion is May 23,2025. Bids must be accompanied by a bidder's bond, cashier's check, or certified check for at least ten percent (10%) of the amount of the base bid and made payable to the Owner, as detailed in the Contract Documents. Pursuant to the Contract Documents, the successful bidder will be required to fumish a Payment (Labor and Material) Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum, and a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum. The Owner will not consider or accept any bids from contractors who are not licensed to do business in the State of California, in accordance with the California Public Contract Code, providing for the licensing of contractors. In accordance with Section 3300 of said Code, the bidder shall have a Class "C-6" license at the time of award and shall maintain that license in good standing through Completion of the Contract and all applicable warranty periods. 1. Build and Install 12-Foot Kitchenette Project Overview: The project involves the construction and installation of cabinetry and countertops for the Maintenance Department at the Tulare City School District. This includes a kitchenette, work countertops, and locking upper cabinets designed for organizational and operational efficiency in the maintenance area. o Dimensions: 12 feet long o Components to be included: Base cabinets with drawers and cabinets for storage Sink installation, with necessary plumbing work (performed by TCSD maintenance) o Finish Requirements: Cabinet faces and drawers should be constructed of durable material, suitable for a high-traffic environment All cabinetry and sink to be installed level and securely fastened to ensure functionality and safety 2. Build and Install of Work Countertop o Dimensions: Approximately 92 feet of continuous work surface o Height: Desk height (typically 30-36 inches) o Material Specifications: Durable, easy-to-clean material suited for a maintenance environment (such as laminate, solid surface, or similar materials) Smooth and consistent finish All countertops to be installed level with proper support to avoid sagging o Installation Notes: All seams between countertop sections to be properly aligned and finished Ensure adequate space for any necessary appliances or tools Corner sections (if applicable) should be rounded or properly finished to avoid injury risk Build and Install of Locking Upper Cabinets o Plumbing and electrical work for the kitchenette sink to be done by the district's maintenance team. o All work should be completed within the designated budget and timeframe as agreed upon. o Dimensions: Approximately 92 feet of total upper cabinet length o Functionality: Cabinets to feature locking mechanisms to secure tools, materials, and other equipment o Construction Details: Cabinets to be constructed with sturdy materials Locking mechanisms should be durable and able to withstand frequent use Shelves inside cabinets should be adjustable for flexibility in storage Cabinet doors to be hinged for ease of access o Finish Requirements: All upper cabinets to be finished with a clean, professional-grade finish that matches the kitchenette and base cabinetry 4. General Requirements and Conditions: o Counter Tops: Wilsonart Black Velvet 15505-31 o Color Code: Phantom Charcoal 8214K-28 o Hinge Type: RPC 376-26D Steel Five-Knuckle Institutional Hinge, ensuring smooth operation and longevity. o Lock Type: Olympus 100-26D78-G0001 o Keying: Master key system o Timeline: Detailed project schedule to be established and adhered to for timely completion. o Quality Assurance: All work must meet or exceed industry standards for cabinetry and countertop installation. All materials and finishes used must be high-quality, durable, and suitable for a commercial/maintenance environment.
