The Town of Sullivan's Island seeks a qualified building contractor to perform removal and replacement of all porch decking and stair treads at Sullivan's Island Town Hall, 2056 Middle Street. Question Deadline 04/14/2025 at 5:00 PM ET All questions and/or requests for clarification regarding this RFP should be provided in writing to Max Wurthmann via email at mwurthmann@sullivansisland.sc.gov The general scope of work includes removal and disposal of all items noted below under Section III, A. "Contractor's Responsibilities." The Contractor shall furnish and provide all materials, supplies, tools, equipment, labor, supervision, and expertise to properly and professionally perform all required services described in this RFP. A. CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Demolition: Includes all labor, equipment, materials, fees, transportation and incidentals needed to demolish, remove and legally dispose of all existing porch decking and stair treads: a. Remove all porch decking and stair treads. Stair risers and all trim to remain. b. Remove all porch rails and salvage for reinstallation. Stair rails to remain. c. Remove and dispose of all column bases. d. Remove outer porch wall and square columns in rear corner (outlined in blue on plans). e. Remove all trash, debris, and any similar objects. f. The Contractor shall comply with all applicable OSHA and MIOSHA regulations. 2. Construction: Includes all labor, equipment, materials, fees, transportation and incidentals needed to correctly construct all proposed components. a. Waterproof exposed framing with appropriate flashing. b. Install 1" eased edge composite decking on all porches. Material selections TBD. c. Install 1-1/2" composite decking on all stair treads. Material selections TBD. d. All new decking to be face screwed with stainless fasteners and plugged. e. Install new round columns at rear corner (outlined in blue) to match the remaining columns. f. Install new column bases. g. Re-Install salvaged handrails. h. Minor carpentry repairs as needed. i. Paint touch up.
