The full length of Taxiway D will be included from Runway 6-24 to Runway 15R-33L, except for the areas within the aforementioned runways' safety areas. The project will also replace the existing incandescent taxiway edge lights and airfield guidance signs along Taxiway D with Light Emitting Diode (LED) light sources. The fee shall be in the form of a cashier's or certified check made payable to the Town of Islip. No other forms of payment will be accepted. No bid will be accepted by email or facsimile. Each bid must be accompanied by a Cashier's Check, Certified Check, or Bid Bond payable to the Town of Islip, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid Price. The successful bidder is required to furnish satisfactory Payment and Performance Bonds for the full amount of the Contract. The Town may make such investigations as deemed necessary to determine the ability of the bidder to perform the work. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of one hundred and twenty (120) days after being publicly opened and read. In the event bids are rejected or no bids are received, the Department of Purchasing is authorized to re-advertise for bids. Bidders must be licensed by the State of New York. Bidders shall make a good faith effort to obtain Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation of five and one-tenth percent (5.10%) of the dollar value of the Contract in accordance with the New York State goals established by this Project.
