The Cosumnes Community Services District will receive sealed bids for Fire Station 73 Asphalt Repair. The work to be performed under this contract includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, transportation and services necessary to reconstruct the failing asphalt concrete access road and one concrete driveway apron to Fire Station 73 in Elk Grove, CA. The work includes fully removing the existing roadway section and subgrade, and rebuilding with a new structural section. The roadway is approximately 301 feet long and varies in width from 22 feet to 28 feet. Bids shall be valid for a period of 90 calendar days after the Bid opening date. It is the responsibility of each prospective bidder to obtain and print all Bid Documents for review and to verify the completeness of Bid Documents before submitting a bid. Any Addenda will be posted online. It is the responsibility of each prospective bidder to check online on a daily basis through the close of bids for any applicable addenda or updates. The District does not assume any liability or responsibility based on any defective or incomplete copying, excerpting, scanning, faxing, obtaining or printing of the Bid Documents. The Contract shall supersede any information posted or transmitted by online. Questions asked by Bidders at the Pre-Bid Conference not specifically addressed within the Contract shall be answered in writing, and shall be posted electronically. Unless otherwise provided in the Instructions for Bidders, each Bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to sections 7000 et seq. of the Business and Professions Code in the following classification(s) throughout the time it submits its Bid and for the duration of the Contract: General "A" or "C-12". District shall award the Contract for the Project to the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder as determined by the District from the lump sum bid price. District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding process. Contractor shall perform and complete all Work under this Contract within twenty (20) working days, beginning the effective date of the Notice to Proceed ("Contract Time"). Contractor shall perform its Work in strict accordance with any completion schedule, construction schedule or project milestones developed by the District. Such schedules or milestones may be included as part of Exhibits "A" or "B" attached hereto, or may be provided separately in writing to Contractor. Contractor agrees that if such Work is not completed within the aforementioned Contract Time and/or pursuant to any such completion schedule, construction schedule or project milestones developed pursuant to provisions of the Contract, it is understood, acknowledged and agreed that the District will suffer damage. Pursuant to Government Code Section 53069.85, Contractor shall pay to the District as fixed and liquidated damages the sum of five hundred dollars ($500) per day for each and every calendar day of delay beyond the Contract Time or beyond any completion schedule, construction schedule or Project milestones established pursuant to the Contract.
